NY AK, otherwise known as Andrew Scott to hi friends and family, makes great house music for the dancefloor. Yes, that simple. By now, he has accumulated an impressive catalogue of EP's for labels such as Paper Recordings and Audio Parallax, but he appears courtesy of the new Karakul imprint, taking up the label's second instalment. "Curtis" and "Flint" fill up the A-side with a playful touch to their grooves, the former being a stomping little house cut with seductive vocal samples, while the latter goes for a faster, more schizoid approach. The B-side contains "Laid", a deeper and more visceral sort of tune, and the swamped, dubby chimes of "1988".
A1 – Curtis
A2 – Flint
B1 – Laid
B2 – 1988
